APPLY Inc. was founded in 1990 as a publisher distributing the medical posters of the Anatomical Chart Company (USA) in Japan. Since then, we have grown into a specialized agency for the pharmaceutical and medical fields, supporting the promotional activities of our client companies with materials designed from the user's point of view—materials that truly work in clinical settings.

Our particular strength lies in anatomical models and medical illustrations for patient education and informed consent. These tools, which make complex medical information easy to understand, are highly regarded by clinicians and have been featured in medical journals and on television.

In 2004, we launched Jintai100, an online shop offering a wide range of medical education products, including anatomical models, anatomical charts and surgical simulators. Kitaro DryLab, our cataract surgery training system developed at the request of an ophthalmologist, won the Grand Prize at the ESCRS 2009 (European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons) congress.

APPLY Inc. will continue to support health and learning through innovative products that meet the needs of clinical and educational settings.

Public Procurement

Government Contracts

Building on the planning capability and the integrated procurement and quality-control system developed through promotional work for pharmaceutical companies, APPLY Inc. also supplies Japan's central government ministries and agencies.

APPLY Inc. holds the unified qualification for participation in competitive bidding across all Japanese government ministries and agencies, registered in three categories: manufacture of goods, sale of goods, and provision of services. Registered product and service categories include textiles, rubber, leather and plastic products, non-ferrous metal and metal products, printed materials, books, paper products, office equipment, advertising and publicity, photography and drafting, and electronic publishing.

Since 2014, we have been awarded contracts by more than ten government bodies and independent administrative institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Ministry of Justice. The cumulative value of these government contracts exceeds 500 million yen. Most of the larger contracts were awarded through open competitive bidding.

Government procurement requires strict compliance with the quality, quantity and delivery terms set out in each specification. We have met these requirements at every scale, from the manufacture of tens of thousands of metal insignia to small calligraphy commissions. Our planning and production capability is not limited to the medical field: it extends to metalwork, textiles, printed materials and related services.

APPLY Inc. owns approximately 600 m² of office space in the Shinjuku Gyoen district of central Tokyo, including its own corporate offices. All of them are owned outright, with the loans taken at the time of acquisition fully repaid. In addition to holding rather than renting our operating premises, part of this space is leased to tenants as an investment property, providing a revenue base that is not tied to the business cycle of our core operations.

Owning commercial real estate in central Tokyo gives us the footing to develop products and build relationships with our clients from a long-term perspective, rather than being driven by short-term returns.
